A huge gap on the glass put an end to a four-game win streak for the Johnson & Wales University men's basketball team in an 81-76 loss at Schreiner on Saturday.

The Wildcats (13-6, 6-4 SCAC) trailed by seven at halftime, cut the deficit to two points in the opening minutes of the second half but could never get completely over the hump.

Jontrell Herman went 6-of-8 from behind the arc and scored a game-high 24 points for the Wildcats. Backcourt mate Andrew Romero III added 21 points and four assists while Bailey Stephens chipped in nine points.

Ellis Jones paced the Mountaineers (7-9, 3-4) with 17 points.

The Wildcats committed a season-low three turnovers and made a season-best 47.8 percent of their 3-point attempts (11-for-23), but it wasn't enough as the Mountaineers had a commanding 43-22 rebounding advantage.

Player of the game: Jontrell Herman needed just nine field goal attempts to reach 24 points for the 10th time this season, making a season-high six 3s.

Stat of the game: JWU's 22 rebounds were the fewest in a game all season.

Up next: The Wildcats return to the state of Texas for an SCAC road contest at Dallas.
