GEORGETOWN – The Johnson & Wales University women's basketball team wrapped up its first SCAC weekend road trip with an 88-45 loss at Southwestern on Saturday.

Brianna Bailey led a trio of Wildcats (0-8, 0-3 SCAC) in double figures with 12 points. Salma Oros and Katey Guzman each scored 11 while Avionne Gomez had seven. Noel Pratts led all scorers with 23 points to help the Pirates (2-8, 1-0) win their conference opener.

The Wildcats were held to single digits in the first two quarters before an 11-point third frame and a 17-point fourth quarter.

JWU will have a week off before returning to the Wildcat Center to host Schreiner Saturday, Dec. 29 in the program's first-ever SCAC conference home game.
