Men's track sets marks at Bearcat Open

Maryville, MO - The Johnson & Wales University men's track and field team had three Wildcats compete in the 3,000-meter run Saturday at the Bearcat Open, and all three set personal-best times. 

Senior John Jacob led the way with a 10th-place finish in 8 minutes, 46.18 seconds to set a new school record in the event. Fellow senior Bryce Moore placed 25th with a time of 9:05.78 while junior Emad Bashir-Mohammed was 27th in 906.32. 

Jacob, Moore and Bashir-Mohammed also teamed up with Albara Mutleq to finish eighth in the distance relay with a time of 10:45.89.

Mutleq also ran a 24.14 in the 200 to place 51st. In the same race freshman Gaven Case was 56th in 24.24 while classmate Oticio Herrera was 33rd in the 5K with a time of 16:26.37.
