Wildcats fall to 13th-ranked Tigers

DENVER - The Johnson & Wales University women's basketball team was unable to slow down No. 13 Trinity University on Friday night at the Wildcat Center as the visiting Tigers won the SCAC matchup by a score of 82-38.

Sophomore Brianna Bailey scored a game-high 21 points to lead JWU Denver. Bailey also paced the Wildcats with six rebounds. Classmate Katey Guzman added six points, three rebounds and three assists. 

Freshman Sariah Serrano finished with five points and five rebounds while senior Salma Oros had four points and three boards. 

Abby Holland and Kelly Simmons scored 15 points each to pace the Tigers, who led 24-4 after the first quarter and had 38 points off turnovers. 

The Wildcats return to the Wildcat Center on Saturday to host Schreiner University at 6 p.m.
