#22 Trinity gets past Wildcats

The Wildcats wrapped up their weekend with a Sunday afternoon contest against #22 Trinity University.

The Tigers picked up two early goals in the 4th minute as they quickly established their offense. Natasha Martin (Las Vegas, Nev.) had her attempt blocked in the 12th minute with Johnson & Wales looking to get on the board. Brieana Caggiano (Edgewater Park, N.J.) made the save on an attempt by TU's Halleanne Dure in the 18th minute. At the break, Trinity held the 6-0 advantage in the contest.

The Tigers added two more goals in the 49th and 50th minutes as the continued to control the tempo of the match. Caggiano had two more saves in the 58th and 61st minutes. In the 78th minute, Virginia Gautier (Fort Worth, Texas) put a shot on goal that forced Paige Wallace to make the save. Caggiano added two more saves late as Trinity took the 9-0 conference victory.

Caggiano had nine saves for Johnson & Wales. JWU (4-4-0, 3-3-0 SCAC) will head to Centenary College (6-3-0, 4-3-0, SCAC) on Sunday, September 30 at 1:00pm MT.
